The Walkable City

20:49 | Labels: , , , ,

I know I'm lame, but I had to post this video. One thing I definitely appreciate in regards to living in Europe is most cities are walkable from end to end. Another reason why I feel Stockholm is one of the best cities in the world. I can't imagine living any other way at this point and if I had to center my life around a car again it would probably be the closest thing to hell for me, hahaha. I exaggerate, but you get my point. This is something that ADDS to the quality of your life not the other way around. Watch.

Ashtanga Yoga Demonstration, Part 2

02:06 | Labels: , , , , ,

Here is the last video we produced while in Mysore, India last winter. We decided to have a little fun and use music that was more up beat in tempo and rhythm. Unexpected. Yes, the practice is an internal often silent quest but here I simply express the celebratory nature of practice. Enjoy.

Ashtanga Yoga Demo Video Filmed in Mysore, India

04:36 | Labels: , , , , , , ,

I had the pleasure of shooting this video during my two month trip to Mysore, India with videographer, Alessandro Sigismondi. We had such a good time and gathered so much material we made four separate videos. I'll be posting the others later. Looking back, this was such a fun experience not necessarily for the end product but for the process it took. There were a few laughs and moments I will never forget. It was an act of creation and expression of the beautiful unfoldment Ashtanga yoga reveals after many years of sustained practice. Through it all it represents my love and honor for this transformative method and the gratitude I am reminded of every day I step on to my mat. I also thank all of you who have followed me through the years on this blog. It is hard to believe already 7 years have passed since its inception. Thank you, thank you!

Bahá'í How Are You Doing? - Have a Little Faith

23:32 | Labels: , ,

Here is a little video about the religion I was raised in. Talk about a great platform to build a foundation upon. Though I no longer label myself as any one thing it takes me back to how powerful the practice and vision of unity is. There is a thread that connects us all. The truth is that we are One. Whenever I deviate from that I know that I have lost my way and what brings me back is the connection we all share. There is no separation, it is only in the mind that we are.

What an amazing project this is. I have to hand it to R. Alexander Medin, a Certified teacher of Ashtanga yoga, on this incredible and very honest work. He is always working with various edges and going that extra mile. Respect!

When Fear Meets the Line

Fear. It will always be there, it will never go away, but what we do with it is the deeper question.

More Monday Inspiration: Strength in Motion

02:44 | Labels: , , ,

I love this video clip with principal dancer Tamara Rojo. Some of what she talks about really parallels with the trails and tribulations of longterm yoga practice and others differ. At any rate, I love hearing personal accounts from those who are the best at what they do. Absolutely lovely and inspiring. She is not only strength in motion but also a culmination of practice in motion. Think of all the work that went into what she has done. Beautiful.
